John Morgan is in his first year as head men’s soccer coach.  Morgan graduated from Magnolia Heights School in 2009.  A former collegiate goalkeeper at Louisiana College until suffering an injury, Morgan later transferred to the University of Mississippi where he graduated with a Bachelors in Multidisciplinary Studies in 2013.

He began his soccer coaching career at Bob Hope School in the Fall of 2016, where he took a first-year soccer program to the area finals.  He then moved on to Brenham where, in his first season, returned the program to the playoffs for the first time in four years.  Next stop was Starkville Academy after they had just been moved into a larger, more competitive division.  During his three years, the boy’s team won two back-to-back district championships, had a state finals appearance, and during the 2020-21 season and had the first 10-0 start in over a decade.  His girls' teams had 2 district runner-up finishes, a district championship and two state semifinal appearances.

Morgan’s 2017-2018 Brenham boys’ soccer team was selected by the Brenham Banner Press in the Top 10 sports moments. 

Additionally, Morgan has earned his UEFA B, NSCAA Gk Lvl 1 & 2 Certificate, and Scottish GK Awards.  He is married to Sara Morgan and they have one daughter.
