Montgomery, Ala.- The Blue Mountain Christian women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 SSAC conference victory over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) on Tuesday in Montgomery, Alabama, using a strong showing in doubles play and key singles wins to secure the match.
The Toppers set the tone early by winning the doubles point.
At No. 1 doubles, Lucia Rodriguez Garcia and Lina Cetina delivered a dominant 6-0 victory. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos followed with a solid 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles to give BMCU the early advantage.
The No. 3 doubles match featuring Kiersten Terris and Nami Malyaporn went unfinished.
In singles play, the Toppers picked up three important victories to clinch the match.
Eugenia Ramos earned a convincing straight-set win at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
