Montgomery, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian's
Jacob Bryant has been named the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week after a standout performance at the plate in the Toppers' three-game conference series against Brewton-Parker Christian.
Bryant delivered a powerful week offensively, recording six hits in 14 at-bats for a .429 batting average.
Five of those six hits went for extra bases, including three home runs, as he consistently provided a spark in the middle of the Blue Mountain Christian lineup.
His power surge resulted in an impressive 1.214 slugging percentage and a total of 17 bases during the series.
Bryant's ability to drive the ball and create scoring opportunities helped fuel the Toppers' offense throughout the weekend.
Whether delivering timely hits or launching balls over the fence, Bryant's presence at the plate proved to be a difference-maker as Blue Mountain Christian battled through the conference matchup with the Barons.
Head Coach
Taylor Clark praised Bryant's approach and impact during the series.
"Jacob had a tremendous weekend for us," Clark said. "He was locked in at the plate and consistently gave us quality at-bats. When a hitter is seeing the ball that well and driving it the way he did, it energizes the entire lineup. We're proud of the way he competed and represented our program."
