Mount Vernon, Ga.- BMCU women's basketball earned a hard-fought 69–66 SSAC road victory over Brewton-Parker Christian on Tuesday evening, showing composure down the stretch to secure the three-point win.
The Toppers improved to 10–9 overall and 5–6 in SSAC play, while the Barons moved to 4–18 on the season and 3–8 in conference action.
Blue Mountain Christian faced early resistance as BPCU built an advantage in the opening minutes, but the Toppers responded with balanced offense and steady defensive pressure to stay within striking distance.
Maddie Kirk and
McKenzie Williams provided early scoring sparks, while
Isabella Carlson helped settle the offense with strong ball movement.
The game remained tight through the first half as both teams exchanged runs, with Blue Mountain Christian entering the break holding a slim edge built on efficient shooting and disciplined execution.
The second half mirrored the intensity of the opening quarters, as Brewton-Parker Christian continued to challenge on both ends of the floor.
The Barons trimmed the margin several times in the third and fourth quarters, but Blue Mountain Christian answered each push with timely baskets, defensive stops, and strong rebounding.

Offensively, Blue Mountain Christian was led by
Maddie Kirk, who finished with a team-high 17 points while adding six rebounds and four assists in an all-around performance.
McKenzie Williams followed with 14 points and five rebounds, delivering key scoring throughout the contest, while
Rebecca Walter added 12 points with efficient shooting.
Isabella Carlson filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, eight assists, and seven points, anchoring the offense and facilitating opportunities for her teammates as the Toppers leaned on balance and depth to secure the victory.
