Toppers complete four-game sweep of Williams Baptist behind clutch performances

Walnut Ridge, Ark.- Blue Mountain Christian capped a dominant weekend by completing a four-game series sweep of Williams Baptist, closing the series with three consecutive victories in Games 2, 3, and 4 behind timely hitting, strong pitching, and steady execution in key moments.
Game 2 resumed at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning after being suspended the previous day, and the Toppers quickly settled into a composed rhythm.
In a tightly contested matchup that pushed into extra innings, Blue Mountain Christian emerged with a 6–5 victory in 10 innings.
The Toppers totaled 11 hits in the game, with Jake Meilstrup producing a multi-hit effort and driving in two runs. Gavin Foley delivered a clutch late-inning RBI to help provide the difference, while Jesse Hancock anchored the pitching staff out of the bullpen, working three scoreless innings to earn the win and keep the Eagles off the board in extras.
Momentum carried into Friday's opener of the doubleheader in Game 3, where the Toppers turned in one of their most complete performances of the series.
Blue Mountain Christian shut out Williams Baptist, 5–0, behind a dominant start from Chris Matthews
Matthews went seven scoreless innings and struck out seven, limiting the Eagles' offensive opportunities throughout the game.
Offensively, the Toppers capitalized with timely run production, as RBIs came from Cody Presley, Trace Roy, Jarret Morris, and Garrett Lance, who drove in two runs to help stretch the lead.
The series concluded with an offensive surge in Game 4, as Blue Mountain Christian outlasted Williams Baptist 13–8 to seal the sweep.
The Toppers erupted for 13 runs on 11 hits, showcasing power and depth throughout the lineup. Meilstrup continued his strong series with a home run and three RBIs, while Reise Thomas added a triple and Foley drove in two more runs.
Blue Mountain Christian built separation with consistent scoring across multiple innings and held on down the stretch to close out the series in convincing fashion.
With the victories in Games 2, 3, and 4, the Toppers completed a four-game sweep of Williams Baptist and will return home next weekend to host highly ranked Georgia Gwinnett College.
