Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Toppers faced Thomas University on Thursday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup, with the Night Hawks pulling away in the second half for an 85–76 victory.
Blue Mountain battled throughout the contest, showing resilience and competitiveness as conference play continued.
Thomas jumped out to an early advantage, building a 42–29 lead by halftime behind a balanced scoring attack and efficient execution.
The Night Hawks carried that momentum into the second half, extending their lead as the Toppers worked to close the gap.
Blue Mountain continued to respond with timely baskets and defensive pressure, but Thomas maintained enough separation down the stretch to secure the conference win.
Gavin Shannon led the Toppers offensively with a team-high 27 points, shooting 9-of-17 from the field and providing a steady scoring presence throughout the night.
Jonathan Baker followed with 19 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists, while
RJ Robinson added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Esrael Yant chipped in nine points, rounding out the primary scoring contributors for Blue Mountain.
The Toppers' effort and fight were evident as they continue to navigate SSAC play.
