Marietta, Ga.- A fast-paced night in Marietta saw the Toppers come up short against Life University, 86–68, at the Eagles' Nest in Southern States Athletic Conference action.
Blue Mountain played with intensity out of the gate, trading baskets early as both teams raced up and down the floor in the opening minutes.
Life built a double-digit advantage in the first half behind efficient shooting and a strong inside presence, taking control before the break.
The Toppers continued to compete after halftime, attacking the rim and pushing the pace, but Life's offensive execution allowed the home team to maintain separation throughout the second half.
Blue Mountain was led by
Jonathan Baker with 17 points and six rebounds, while
Gavin Shannon added 15 points and four boards.
Michael Hill scored 13 points, and
Chris Carter provided a lift off the bench with 10 points.
Jalen Boyd-Savage finished with four assists, helping facilitate the offense as BMCU battled to the final horn.
The Toppers will return to action in one week when they host the Thomas Nighthawks at Tyler Gymnasium.
