Pulaski, Tenn.- Blue Mountain Christian University volleyball kicked off SSAC play in style Friday night, earning a hard-fought win over the UT Southern Firehawks.
Marissa Gerleman turned in a standout performance, leading the team with 13 kills while posting a flawless hitting percentage of .684 with zero errors. She was joined in double digits by
Rachel Stegall and
Valeria Velez, as the Toppers racked up 53 kills on the night.
Setter
Reanna Brown orchestrated the attack with 34 assists, also contributing 16 digs in a well-rounded effort. Defensively, BMCU was relentless, with multiple players in double figures for digs.
Kora Wilson anchored the back row with 17, while
Salice Speed matched Brown with 16. Velez added 13 digs to complete her strong two-way outing.
The win marks a confident start to conference play for the Volley Toppers, who now prepare for their long-anticipated home opener on Tuesday against Bethel University
