Blue Mountain, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian University men's soccer stormed past the Oakwood Ambassadors on Friday afternoon in a dominant first half that ended in a 19-0 scoreline before Oakwood was forced to forfeit at halftime.
Per NAIA rules, the statistics from the contest will not be officially counted, and the match will go down as a 1-0 forfeit victory for the Toppers. Still, the offensive display in the opening 45 minutes was a statement in itself.
Daniel Nunes led the charge with a double hat trick, netting six goals while adding an assist.
Yalin Alici followed with four goals, while
Kida Yamaguchi recorded a hat trick to go with three assists.
Karim Swedi added two goals and two assists, while
Erick Braga,
Elvis Ezendu,
Murilo Andrade, and Arthur Menzes each contributed a goal in the half.
The Toppers will now turn their attention to Monday's matchup against Louisiana Christian University as they look to carry their momentum into the next contest.
