Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Toppers played well in the first half but were hampered by injuries in the second, ultimately coming up short against the Barons, 3-0.
BMCU held their ground through the opening half, keeping the match level at 0-0 while generating three shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Sophie Young looked sharp between the posts, tallying three saves to keep the Barons off the board.
The second half took a turn as the injury bug forced several key Toppers to the bench. The Barons capitalized, finding the back of the net three times to secure the victory in the SSAC opener.
BMCU will look to bounce back this Saturday at Topper Pitch when they host the Thomas University Nighthawks.
