Daphne, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian women's soccer traveled to Daphne, Alabama on Saturday to face United States Sports University, falling 3-0 to the Eagles.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Sophie Young was stout for the Toppers' defense, with an impressive nine saves on 28 shots faced.
The Toppers held their ground in the first half, keeping the deficit to just 1-0 at the break. The Eagles, however, capitalized late in the match, netting two goals in quick succession at the 75' and 78' minutes to secure the win.
Despite the scoreline, it was a valiant effort to start the season for BMCU.
The Toppers will return to action Monday afternoon in an exhibition match at Mississippi University for Women, with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m.
