West Point, Ga.- The lady Toppers ended their road trip this weekend with two wins over SSAC foe, Point University.
Abby Keller continued her dominating performance from yesterday against ABAC by going seven scoreless innings today, striking out five batters.
Julianna Ingram drove in the first run of the ball game with a sac fly that scored MJ Mitchell in the first inning.
With the Toppers defense and Keller looking sharp, the Toppers continued to add insurance runs.
Skylar Lee and Mitchell were able to perform the double steal on the Skyhawks defense in the top of the fourth inning, scoring Lee.
Kelsey Camp hit a double in the sixth inning to score
Maryn Macri.
Keller kept the bats of the Skyhawks quiet, leading to game one 3-0 victory for BMCU.
In game two,
Bri Langley kept the lady Toppers strong pitching performance going. She went seven innings of work, giving up just one run on four hits.
In the first inning, BMCU had a hit parade going, grabbing three runs.
Camp and
Julianna Ingram both hit rbi doubles and
Iris Farve hit a rbi single to grab the early lead.
Point fired back with a run in the bottom of the first, but it would be their lone run in the ball game.
Lee, who had a terrific day at the plate, hit a triple in the sixth inning that scored
Courtney Richardson and
Neely Barrier.
Lee would later score on a passed ball.
Langley shut down the Point batters for the rest of the game, giving the lady Toppers the SSAC series sweep.
