Montgomery versus Stillman SB Feb. 7, 2025

Lady Toppers and Tigers Even Through Two Games

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Blue Mountain, Miss.- The lady Toppers and Tigers split the first two games of the four-game series this Friday.
Abby Keller put up a solid pitching performance in game one of the series versus Stillman College, allowing just three runs in four innings of work.
Through the first three innings, the Tigers were grasping onto a three-run lead with two homers by Davidson and Lumpkin.
Iris Farve hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to score Skylar Lee to get the lady Toppers on the board.
In the sixth innings, BMCU created some fire power offensively to take the lead four to three.
Farve hit a double into deep center field that scored Kelsey Camp.
Julianna Ingram followed Farve by hitting a double of her own.
On Ingram's hit, Montgomery was pinch running and got caught up in a rundown.
The throw to third base ended up hitting her in the back and rolled to the outfield which led to her and Ingram being able to round the bases to take the lead.
Janna Shaw came into pitch in relief of Keller in the final three innings of play.
In the top of the seventh inning, Stillman was able to work a little magic of their own off a two RBI base hit to take back the lead.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the lady Toppers tried to answer back from the two-run deficit with a hit by Neely Barrier that scored MJ Mitchell, but the Tigers were able to endure the Toppers efforts and take game one with a win.
In game two, Montgomery helped the Toppers cruise to victory behind seven innings of shutout pitching.
Montgomery allowed just four hits and one walk in a great pitching performance.
Tyra Billy scored the lone run in the game in the fifth inning off Lee's fielder's choice.
BMCU will look to capture the four-game series tomorrow in Blue Mountain at 1:00 pm.
