Blue Mountain, Miss.- The BMCU put together a composed, team-oriented performance Wednesday night, earning a 63–56 victory over the Mobile Rams.
BMCU set the tone early, edging out a 19–18 lead after the opening quarter before building momentum on both ends of the floor in the second.
The Toppers leaned on efficient shot-making and steady rebounding to take a 33–28 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter proved pivotal as Blue Mountain continued to control the paint and limit second-chance opportunities.
Maddie Kirk led the offensive push with a team-high 14 points while also pulling down seven rebounds, giving the Toppers consistent production inside.
Kathryn Echols followed with 12 points and five rebounds, providing balance in the frontcourt as BMCU carried a 49–43 lead into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, the Toppers stayed poised despite Mobile's defensive pressure.
Isabella Carlson filled the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals, helping BMCU maintain control in key moments.
Rebecca Walter anchored the defense down the stretch, finishing with eight points, six rebounds and three blocks as the Toppers closed out the seven-point win.
Blue Mountain Christian finished the night shooting 51 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle, using efficiency and physical play to secure the victory.
BMCU will host Faulkner University on New Year's for its next game.
