Mobile, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian men's basketball traveled to face the Mobile Rams on Saturday afternoon, falling 79–68 in a matchup that saw long stretches of steady back-and-forth play before the Rams created separation in the second half.
The opening twenty minutes featured shifting momentum from both sides. The Toppers found early rhythm in the paint and briefly held an eight-point lead midway through the first half, highlighted by efficient finishes from
Michael Hill,
Gavin Shannon, and
Jamarion Harvey. Mobile answered with timely three-pointers, eventually pulling even and edging ahead to take a 42–39 lead into the break.
In the second half, Blue Mountain Christian continued to generate inside scoring opportunities, with Hill remaining active around the rim and
RJ Robinson and
Braxton Taylor adding key baskets to keep the game within reach. Mobile, however, connected on several perimeter shots during a key stretch to widen its advantage. Despite the Toppers responding with steady defensive possessions and contributions from the bench, the Rams maintained their momentum down the stretch to secure the win.
Hill led BMCU with 19 points, adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Shannon followed with 11 points, while Harvey added 7 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Taylor provided an efficient spark with 9 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Robinson and
Jalen Boyd-Savage each contributed 8 and 4 points, respectively, and
Chris Tackett anchored the interior with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. The Toppers finished with 42 points in the paint and 25 bench points.
Blue Mountain Christian will return to action on December 4, hosting the Loyola University Wolf Pack.
