BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Men won its opening game of the 2025-26 season Saturday, easily dispatching Welch College 120-81.
Five Toppers scored in double figures on the night, as 
Gavin Shannon led with 22 points, while 
Michael Hill dropped in 17.
Jamarion Harvey was solid out front for the Toppers, scoring 15 of his own, while 
Braxton Taylor and 
Jonathan Baker both had 11 apiece in the victory.
The Topper offense exploded in the second half for 67 points, as they would go 15-of-34 from deep.
Shannon would hit four from deep, while Baker nailed three.
Blue Mountain would shoot a hot 54 percent from the field, while holding Welch to just 37 percent.
The Toppers would also get an incredible 75 points from its bench and force 13 Welch turnovers in the game.
BMCU (1-0) returns to action Thursday in Blue Mountain, hosting state foe Rust College at 7:30 p.m. CT.
