Pulaski, Tenn.- The Toppers went into Pulaski, Tennessee after a non-conference win versus the Cumberland Phoenix on Thursday night.
Douglas Vincent has started to heat up for BMCU, and Saturday was not any different. Vincent scored ten first half points off the bench with six points coming from behind the arc.
Teboul also came off the bench scoring six points to go along with four rebounds.
Timely shooting from Brian Maxey,
Leo Lin, and
Chris Carter allowed the Toppers to capture a two-point lead at the end of the first half.
BMCU started the second half by going on a ten to five run with
Jason Hunt scoring seven of those points in less than three minutes.
UT-Southern kept chipping away at the Toppers ten-point lead, and by the halfway point of the second half it was a flimsy one-point lead for BMCU.
Clutch shooting by the Fire Hawks allowed them to gain the momentum and lead in the final minute of play.
It was a chaotic last minute of play where three technical fouls were called. Two of the technical fouls called on UT-Southern.
When it was all said and done, the UT-Southern Fire Hawks were able to cling to a narrow victory versus BMCU.
Hunt led the Toppers in scoring with twenty points and three steals defensively.
Maxey had ten points and eight rebounds in the game.
Vincent put up ten points as well.
The Toppers will be at home this Thursday playing against conference foe Loyola University.
