PULASKI, Tenn. – It wasn't Blue Mountain's night Friday, as they lost a 0-3 (14-25, 23-25, 19-25) SSAC contest to UT-Southern on the road.
It was the third SSAC loss for the Toppers on the season, with one conference win coming over an outmatched Loyola team earlier in the month.
Senior Rae Ann Hall led BMCU with nine kills at a .133 clip, while Hailey Oliver had 10 assists.
Kerianna Collins would get 10 digs in the loss, while Olivia Ashton had two assisted blocks.
The Firehawks' Sophia Ortega was able to hit around the Topper blockers, notching 14 kills at a .314 clip, while Olivia Ward had 10 kills.  Laura Howell also dished out 36 assists in the win for UT-Southern.
Errors also plagued the Toppers, as they committed 17 with nine service errors.
BMCU (8-5, 1-3 SSAC) will next face (RV) Mobile Friday, Sept. 27 on the road, looking to exact revenge from an earlier loss.
