Milligan, Tenn.- The Volley Toppers, over the weekend, split in Milligan Mountain Madness Tournament.
BMCU had a hot start versus Tennessee Wesleyan in match one.
Helen Roy led the team in kills with twelve.
Olivia Ashton followed behind her with nine kills.
Kerianna Collins had three aces in match.
Hailey Oliver went on to have eighteen assists in the match.
Jaiyah Jackson went diving to the ground defensively for the Toppers with seventeen kills.
In the second match, BMCU fell to Milligan University losing in four sets.
Ashton was still consistent for the Volley Toppers in the loss with a team high eleven kills.
Natalie Bartholomew was second with nine kills of her own.
Oliver and
Olivia Domino had double digit assists with twenty and seventeen.
Again, Jackson led the team in digs with nineteen while
Kora Wilson had thirteen digs of her own.
BMCU won a hard-fought battle against Rio Grande University in their third match.
The Toppers were down two sets to one but endured to a five-set victory.
Rae Ann Hall was consistent with eleven kills, and
Marissa Gerleman landed eight kills of her own.
Hall found a groove serving with three aces as well.
Domino came up big for the Toppers with twenty-one assists in the victory.
Jackson's renowned defense led the team again with twenty-two digs.
In the final match, BMCU loss to the University of the Cumberlands in three sets.
Kaytie Rutland had nine kills and two blocks.
Domino had twenty-one assists for the second time.
Jackson had twenty-three digs.
The Volley Toppers will be back in action tomorrow against Central Baptist College at 6:00pm at BMCU.
