JACKSON, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian picked up a midweek game over Tougaloo Wednesday, defeating the Bulldogs 13-9 in non-conference action.
The Toppers would get a two-run homer day from Will Crawford, as he belted a two-run blast in the third and a solo shot in the eighth.
Arderrius Townsend would also homer in the game for the Toppers, a solo shot in the eighth, his eighth of the season.
Blue Mountain would bang out 15 hits against the Bulldog pitching staff, as Crawford led the way with three hits, five RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases.  Crawford's home run tally on the season now stands at three.
Townsend and Hayden Arant would also have two hits for the Toppers in the victory, with Townsend also scoring two runs.
Blue Mountain would use nine arms from the pitching staff, with Chris Smith (2-0) earning the victory on the bump, tossing one inning, giving up a run on two hits.
The Toppers would swipe six bases on the day, with Crawford and Gavin Coles getting two apiece and Townsend snatching one.
BMCU (13-5, 2-4 SSAC) now sets its sight on a huge three-game SSAC series against No. 18 Mobile Saturday and Sunday.  The three-game set will be in Mobile, Ala. with Saturday's games at 2 and 4 p.m. and Sunday's at 1 p.m. CT.
