No. 11 Central Baptist holds on for win over Toppers

CONWAY, Ark. – No. 11 Central Baptist knocked off Blue Mountain Christian Men for the second time this season Tuesday, winning 67-63.
The first half was competitive, as the two teams went back and forth with Blue Mountain taking an early 8-5 lead on a Jules Teboul layup early.
Jason Hunt would drain a three five minutes in, and the Toppers wouldn't get another field goal until 11:55 on another layup from Teboul to give BMCU a 14-10 lead.
Both teams went through a scoring drought until Teboul made 1-of-2 from the free throw line, and Bryan Maxey followed it up with a jumper to make it 17-10 Blue Mountain.
Vincent Douglas would drain a three at 5:33, but the Mustangs would go on a 12-0 run to tie it at 20-all.  CBC would take a 31-28 lead into the half after a layup from Sage Borbon and a free throw from Gabe Johnson.
In the second half, CBC would hit a 7-0 run early and jump out to a 43-32 lead before Leo Lin hit two free throws for the Toppers.
Hunt would get to the basket for a couple scores for the Toppers midway through the half, but three straight scores from CBC saw the Toppers down 55-43.
BMCU would cut into the lead with less than six minutes to play, as Douglas and Maxey would get back-to-back buckets, followed by a three from Douglas making it 58-55.
The Toppers would cut the lead to one on an offensive board and layup from Hunt, and Douglas completed a four-point play, but CBC would hold on for the win.
Douglas led all scorers with 21 points, while Hunt had 17.  Rameon Witt, Jr. pulled down 12 rebounds on defense.
BMCU (4-6, 0-4 SSAC) look to snap a five-game skid December 5 as they host SSAC foe Mobile in Blue Mountain at 7:30 p.m. CT.
