MOBILE, Ala. – Blue Mountain Christian Men's Soccer season came to an end here Thursday, as they dropped the first-round matchup of the SSAC Championship to the University of Mobile 1-6.
Mobile, the No. 3 team in the nation, and No. 1 seed in the SSAC, scored early in the match at 4:40 on a Topper miscue, giving the Rams a team goal and a 1-0 lead.
At 29:22, Emilio Cazares put his team up 2-nil as he found the back of the net for the Rams.
The Rams would seal the match in the early part of the second half, as Henrique Mendes would find the net off an assist from Noah Miller.
Mobile would get another goal from Cazeres at 70:56, followed by scores from Joseph McMahon and Adam Byzdra.
Blue Mountain would get its lone score at 83:11 when Elvis Ezendu scored on an assist from Yushi Nagamatsu.
The Mobile offense would get 12 shots on goal in the match, with the Toppers getting one.
Topper keepers Gabriel Ormeneze and Jesus Calvo would split time between the sticks with each man getting three saves.
BMCU finishes the 2024 season 3-9-4 overall and 3-6-1 in SSAC play.
