Volley Toppers block way to eight straight wins, down BPC

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian made it eight straight wins here Friday night, winning an SSAC matchup with Brewton-Parker 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-12).
The win also marked the Volley Toppers' fifth straight conference victory, as it was a block party on the night for BMCU, with BMCU collecting 18 total blocks.
A'Dasia Porter, Kaytie Rutland and Ambre El Rhaffouli all had three assisted blocks apiece, while Olivia Ashton and Sammie Smith had a pair of assisted blocks.  Rutland and Ashton both had a solo block apiece.
The BMCU defense absolutely stifled the BPC offense, as the Barons would hit -.052 on the night.
The Toppers never let the Barons into the match, as BMCU spread the wealth of kills around.
Ashton would drill seven kills at a .538 clip, while Rae Ann Hall added seven of her own.
Helen Roy chipped in six kills at .217, while Peyton Kidd had 13 assists and Hailey Oliver had 12 in the 6-2.  Kora Wilson contributed 14 digs on defense, while Jaiyah Jackson and Kerianna Collins both had a pair of aces in the win.
BMCU (16-5, 6-3 SSAC) returns to their home floor Saturday in SSAC play, hosting Middle Georgia State at 1 p.m. CT.
