CONWAY, Ark. – Blue Mountain Christian Men suffered a 1-0 shutout Thursday to Central Baptist in non-conference action.
The clean sheet went to Mustang keeper Jasper Gadellaa who finished with six saves between the sticks.
The Blue Mountain defense was solid, as only three shots on goal were allowed by the Toppers, with keeper
Alvaro Lopez notching two saves on just three shots on goal.
The loner that got by came late in the match, as the Mustangs' Daniel Pinkney found the net unassisted at the 73:15 mark.
The Toppers would get two shots from
Matteus Valone early in the match, with his first traveling wide at 7:21 and his second being stopped by Gadellaa at 19:53.
Ruben Kuypers would have a look at the net at the 36:25 mark but was also handled by Gadellaa. Kuypers shot again three minutes later but was again denied by Gadellaa.
Blue Mountain had a couple more tries with time running out on a shot by
Thiago Ormeneze and later an offsides with 25 seconds left, but the Mustangs' defense held on for the win.
BMCU (2-2) returns to action Saturday as they host Williams Baptist in non-conference action in Blue Mountain with start time set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
