PULASKI, Tenn. – No. 2 seed UT-Southern put on a scoring exhibition here Thursday against No. 7 seed Blue Mountain Christian, eliminating the Lady Toppers from the SSAC Championship Tournament in the first round and winning 8-0.
Nao Katamoto would lead with a hat trick for the Firehawks, while Marina Nawa posted a goal and two assists in the win.
The UT-Southern offense would shoot 31 times in the match, while its defense would hold Blue Mountain to zero shots.
Katamoto's would score her first goal at 28:36, followed by two goals in the second half at 50:19 and 86:51.
Jordan Gates and
Caitlyn Fox would split time at keeper for the Toppers, with Gates getting four saves and Fox getting one.
BMCU finishes the season 5-12-1 overall and 3-7 in the SSAC.
