BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian set a milestone here Friday with a 3-0 sweep of Brewton-Parker, winning its 30
th straight SSAC match while also notching the 13
th straight regular-season victory.
"It' a great accomplishment these ladies have put together," BMCU head coach
Reid Gann said. "It also says a lot about this team, and how they've competed in such a great conference. I'm really proud of them."
The win also puts Gann one step closer to the 100-career win mark, as he now sits at 98.
"We just take them one game at a time, and hopefully they'll turn out in our favor in the end," Gann commented on the milestone.
The game tonight itself was never in doubt, as
Randi Crandall was an unbelievable 9-for-9 on kills for 1.000 clip while
Rae Ann Hall had seven kills at an .875 mark.
Gigi Sasso would also have seven kills with 10 digs and
Jaiyah Jackson would have two service aces on the night.
Reanna Brown would lead the way in assists for the Toppers in the 6-1, dishing out 16.
The win ups Blue Mountain's record to 15-1 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the SSAC.
"We know we have a target on our back right now, so we have to continue playing at a high level," Gann said.
Blue Mountain welcomes Middle Georgia State to Tyler Gym Saturday at 1 p.m. CT in another SSAC tilt.
