Blue Mountain Christian Men's Basketball head coach
Jermael Bingham announced today that former Topper star Harrison Fancher has been hired as assistant coach.
Fancher, a Belmont, Miss. native, spent 2015-19 playing for the Toppers as a shooting guard where he's still ranked in the top five with most made three-pointers at BMCU.
Fancher has spent the last four years serving as boys head coach at Belmont High School (Miss.) where he led his teams to playoff berths in three of four seasons and saw three of his players named NEMBCA All-Stars.
He's also been the assistant coach at Belmont in girl's basketball, helping to guide the team to a 77-10 record in three season and a state championship in 2023-24.
"I'm extremely blessed and honored to be named assistant men's basketball coach at BMCU," Fancher said. "To be able to come back and work with the coach I played for is something very special and shows the family culture this university is built on."
Bingham said he is grateful Fancher is joining his staff and looks forward to working with him again.
"Harrison's work ethic and attitude toward basketball speaks for itself," Bingham said. "He was an outstanding individual and ambassador during his playing days for us here at BMCU, and I expect that will continue as a coach."
Fancher stated, "I expect to help Coach Bingham continue building on the foundation he has already established. Competing at the highest level while exemplifying Christ is the ultimate goal and expectation of this program."
Fancher earned his bachelor's in secondary education from BMCU in 2019, and later earned his master's in strategic communication from Arkansas State in 2020. He is also a member of Dennis Church in Dennis, Miss.
"I'm looking forward to helping this program continue to achieve excellence, and through basketball, maximize our potential on the floor while glorifying God with our attitudes and actions off the floor," Fancher said.
