Curt Fowler graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 1989.  He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where he played baseball for Coach Ronnie Key from 1989-1991.  Fowler graduated with a B.A. in Histor from the University of Mississippi in 2000.  Before his coaching career, he was Publisher and Editor for The Professional Kennel Club magazine and Sports Editor of the Souther Sentinel newspaper in Ripley, Miss.  He also served as a town alderman for the city of Hickory Flat, Miss. from 1998-2002.

Fowler was head baseball coach at Potts Camp High School before moving to New Albany High School in 2001.  His coaching honors include being named the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Coach of the Year and District 1-3A Coach of the Year while at New Albany.  Fowler has coached in the NEMCABB All-Star Game and the Crossroads Diamond Club All-Star Game.  He was the gold medal winning coach of the 2002 District 1 State Games Championship team.  Fowler would go on to lead New Albany to six county championships, three division titles and North-Half and State playoffs.  His 2008 team finished ranked 3rd in the Daily Journal Baseball Poll and 15th in the state by the Clarion-Ledger Newspaper.

Fowler is married to the former Fancy Bennett.  They have one son, Matthew Case Fowler, who is 17 years old and in the 12th grade.  The Fowlers attend Ripley Primitive Baptist Church.
