Jacksonville, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian University men's cross country opened its 2026 season Friday morning at the Foothills Trail Meet, hosted by Jacksonville State University.
Competing in a 17-team field, the Toppers earned a ninth-place team finish in their first race of the season.
Senior Lukas Dykes paced Blue Mountain Christian, finishing 47th overall with a time of 16:36.7.
Junior Jonah Barnhardt followed as BMCU's second finisher, crossing the line in 66th place with a time of 17:08.9.
A pair of freshmen were next across the line for the Toppers. Samuel Aguilar finished 78th overall with a time of 17:32.4, while Layn Burney followed closely in 80th at 17:38.9.
Senior Erick Flores recorded a personal-best time of 17:51.4 to finish 88th overall. 
Senior Braxton Enzor followed in 98th with a time of 18:13.7.
Freshman Jacob Waller crossed the line in 102nd place at 18:22.6, while fellow freshman Austin Ellis finished 119th with a time of 19:00.8.
Senior Lelan Boulden added another personal-best performance for BMCU, finishing 126th with a time of 19:13.8.
Sophomore John Thomas Draper finished 141st with a time of 20:47.8, while freshman Samuel Hutchinson rounded out the Topper runners in 145th at 21:07.7.
