Blue Mountain, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian University has announced the addition of Grace Swanson to the volleyball coaching staff as the program's new assistant coach.
Swanson joins the Volley Toppers after building a strong coaching résumé at both the high school and club levels while also bringing a competitive playing background to Blue Mountain Christian. 
A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Swanson was a member of Corinth High School's inaugural volleyball team in 2009 and helped establish the foundation of the program's success. 
During her playing career, she earned All-Division honors while helping lead the Warriors to a division championship and a North Half Championship appearance in 2012.
Following her playing career, Swanson began coaching and has accumulated four years of coaching experience outside of Mississippi before returning to Corinth High School as the Warriors' head volleyball coach in 2023. 
Under her leadership, Corinth reached the MHSAA playoffs in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, marking the program's first postseason appearances since 2019.
Swanson has also made an impact within the volleyball community across the state. In 2024, she was selected to coach the Northeast Mississippi Volleyball Coaches Association (NMVCA) 4A-7A All-Star Game. 
In addition, she has served as a head coach for Core Volleyball over the past three years, where she continues to help develop athletes through competitive club volleyball.

"She has a passion for investing in student-athletes and helping them become successful both on and off the court. Her coaching experience, competitive mindset, and commitment to building meaningful relationships make her a great fit for what we are continuing to build at Blue Mountain Christian University. I know she is going to make a positive impact on our program from day one."
Swanson earned an associate's degree from Northeast Mississippi Community College before receiving her Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching from the University of Southern Mississippi. She will begin pursuing her master's degree in Sport and Coaching Performance at Southern Miss this August.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the BMCU family and can't wait to help our student-athletes grow both on and off the court," said Swanson. "I'm looking forward to helping our program continue to compete at a high level while building meaningful relationships and contributing to a positive team culture."

She emphasizes accountability, hard work, and continuous growth while striving to help players reach their full potential both on and off the court. 
As she joins the Volley Toppers, Swanson looks forward to helping build upon the program's success while fostering a culture where athletes are confident, resilient, and excited to improve each day.
