New Albany, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian delivered a dominant performance on Senior Day, sweeping the Rust Bearcats in their final regular season home match.
The Toppers honored seniors
Luis Lainer and
Pablo Cruz prior to the match, recognizing their contributions to the program before putting together a complete team performance on the court.
In doubles play, Blue Mountain Christian set the tone early with a trio of commanding wins.
Adriaan Engelbrecht and Lainer rolled to a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Cruz and Kevin Kotzé followed with a strong 6-1 win.
Caleb Rogers and
Craig Blevins completed the sweep with a 6-0 result at the third position.
The momentum carried into singles, where the Toppers continued to control the match across the lineup. Engelbrecht earned a 6-1, 6-1 win, and Cruz added a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory. Kotzé and Blevins were both flawless in their matches, each recording 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
Shiraam Anbanantan delivered another dominant performance with a 6-0, 6-3 win, while Lainer capped off Senior Day with a strong 6-3, 6-4 victory.
With the regular season now complete, the Toppers will turn their attention to the upcoming SSAC Tournament.
