McKenzie, Tenn.- Blue Mountain Christian men's tennis competed on the road against Bethel University (Tenn.) on Tuesday, with the Toppers falling 7-0 in the match.
Despite the final score, several matches were closely contested throughout the afternoon.
In doubles play, Adriaan Englebrecht and
Luis Lainer played a competitive match on the top court before falling 6-4.
Caleb Rogers and
Craig Blevins dropped their match 6-1 on court two, while
Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé battled but came up short 6-4 in the third doubles position.
In singles competition, Englebrecht fell 6-0, 6-3 on the No. 1 court. Blevins was defeated 6-2, 6-1, while Cruz dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision.
Kotzé played in one of the tightest matches of the day, pushing his first set to a tiebreak before ultimately falling 7-6, 6-2.
Elsewhere in the lineup, Parra was defeated 6-0, 6-2, and Lainer battled through a close contest before falling in a match tiebreaker 10-5.
Blue Mountain Christian will look to regroup as they prepare for their next match.
