WTennis vs Missouri Baptist 2026

Toppers battle at home versus Spartans

New Albany, Miss.- The Blue Mountain Christian University women's tennis team faced a strong test on their home courts Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-2 to Missouri Baptist despite several tightly contested matches throughout the lineup.
The doubles point proved to be competitive as the Toppers pushed Missouri Baptist in two of the three matches.
Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos battled in a hard-fought match that ultimately came down to a tiebreaker, where they fell 7-4.
Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia also found themselves in a tightly contested doubles matchup, but were edged in another 7-4 tiebreaker.
Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris competed in the third doubles position, falling 6-1.
In singles play, the Toppers picked up two victories. Mordiz delivered a strong performance, earning a straight-sets victory with scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Ramos also secured a point for Blue Mountain, showing resilience in a three-set battle that was decided in a third-set tiebreaker.
Cetina, Garcia, Malyaporn, and Terris all competed hard in their singles matches but were unable to come away with victories.
Malyaporn's match was particularly competitive as she pushed her opponent to a decisive third set before coming up just short.
Despite the final score, the match provided valuable preparation as the Toppers now turn their attention toward conference play.
Blue Mountain will open SSAC competition on Thursday when they travel to Montgomery, Alabama.
