MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Blue Mountain Christian Women dropped its first match of the season here Friday to Cumberland (Tenn.), falling 3-4.
The Lady Toppers would drop the Doubles point, but followed it up with three Singles victories, including a Court 1 win by
Camila Mordiz 6-4, 6-0.
Lina Cetina picked a victory on Court 3, winning 6-4, 0-6, 13-11 and
Nami Malyaporn won 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) on Court six.
BMCU's three doubles teams dropped, while
Eugenia Ramos retired on Court 2, while
Valeria Manquillo and
Lucia Rodriguez Garcia dropped in Singles play.
The Lady Toppers were scheduled to play Christian Brothers also today, but due to sickness CBU had to withdraw.
BMCU (2-1) returns to action Saturday, February 21 against Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. at 1 p.m. CT.
