MEMPHIS, Tenn. – MATCH 1 - Blue Mountain Christian Men fell for the first time in the 2026 season here Friday to Cumberland (Tenn.), dropping 1-6 in Match 1 of the day.
Cumberland would grab the Doubles point, but the BMCU Court 1 team of Adriaan Engelbrecht and Kevin Kotze won a big match 6-3 to kick off the day.
Englebrecht would turn around and give Blue Mountain its lone point of the day by winning Singles Court 1 by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Kotze, Pablo Cruz, Luis Lainer, Shriraam Anbanantan and Craig Blevins all dropped on Singles Courts for the Toppers.
 
MATCH 2
The afternoon match saw the Toppers drop to the NCAA's Christian Brothers, falling 0-7.
Blue Mountain Christian saw the Buccaneers grab the Doubles point to open the late match.
Maj Langerholz and Shriraam Anbanantan played a close Court 3 in Doubles, but eventually fell 3-6.
Englebrecht played tough on Court 1 for the Toppers, but eventually dropped 5-7, 0-6, while Luis Lainer played solid on Singles Court 4, but fell 1-6, 5-7.
BMCU (2-1) returns to action Friday, February 27 against Missouri Baptist in Little Rock, Ark. at 2 p.m. CT.
