Montgomery, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian sophomore Lucia Rodriguez Garcia has been named the SSAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week following a commanding performance in the Toppers' season-opening match against Millsaps College.
Garcia set the tone early in doubles play, teaming up with Lina Cetina to secure a decisive 6–2 victory. 
The pair controlled the match from the baseline, applying steady pressure and dictating pace to give BMCU an early edge.
In singles competition, Garcia elevated her performance even further. 
The Santa Irene, Spain native delivered a flawless outing, earning a 6–0, 6–0 straight-set victory without dropping a single game. 
Her consistency, precision, and composure showcased the depth of her offseason preparation and immediately positioned her as a key contributor for the Toppers this spring.
The dominant sweep in singles capped an impressive all-around day for Garcia, earning her conference recognition to open the year and providing strong momentum for Blue Mountain Christian moving forward.
