HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Women's Tennis picked up its second straight victory here Tuesday, defeating Rust College 5-2 to move to 2-0 on the young season.
The Lady Toppers grabbed the Doubles point, as
Camila Mordiz and
Eugenia Ramos won Court 1 by a score of 6-4, and
Kiersten Terris and
Valeria Manquillo won 6-1 easily on Court 2. Court 3 went to BMCU's
Lucia Rodriguez Garcia and
Lina Cetina in a forfeit.
In Singles, Manquillo took Court 1 by a score of 3-6, 7-5, 10-8, Ramos dropped 4-6, 5-7 on Court 2 and Cetina handled a 6-1, 6-1 victory on Court 3.
Rodriguez Garcia fell on Court 4 by a score of 1-6, 2-6,
Nami Malyaporn won in a shutout 6-0, 6-0 on Court 5, while Terris won Court 6 by forfeit.
BMCU (2-0) returns Friday, Feb. 13 in doubleheader action in Memphis, Tenn., taking on Christian Brothers at 10 a.m. CT and Cumberland (Tenn.) at 1 p.m. CT.
