Toppers compete with nation’s best at Coastal Georgia Winter Invite

St. Simons Island, Ga.- Blue Mountain Christian women's golf earned a 12th-place finish at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invite, battling through a highly competitive national field on a par-72 course measuring 5,963 yards. 
The event featured several top-ranked NAIA programs, including No. 1 Keiser, No. 6 SCAD Savannah, No. 9 Southeastern, No. 14 Embry-Riddle, and No. 17 Coastal Georgia, along with other institutions receiving votes.
Morgan Dabbs led the way for the Toppers, tying for 45th place with rounds of 84-78 for a two-round total of 162. 
Dabbs improved by six strokes in the second round, showing steady progress and resilience against elite competition.
Abby Gattis tied for 54th after posting rounds of 79-88 for a total of 167, while Erin Porter finished tied for 60th with rounds of 90-81, totaling 171. 
Porter's nine-stroke improvement in the final round highlighted the team's determination to finish strong.
Abby Moore tied for 64th with rounds of 84-88 for a 172 total, and Adina Ataullah placed 79th after carding rounds of 97-92 to finish at 189.
Head Coach Kevin Barefield emphasized the value of competing against top-tier programs. "This was a great opportunity for our women to measure themselves against some of the best teams in the country," Barefield said. "We saw growth throughout the tournament, especially with how we responded in the second round. Competing in fields like this prepares us for what's ahead, and I'm proud of the way our players represented Blue Mountain."
Facing nationally ranked opponents on a championship-caliber course, the Toppers gained valuable experience and continued building momentum as the season progresses.
