Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Toppers had an impressive showing on Saturday morning, placing first overall at the Topper Trails College Classic on their home course.
Competing in a field of seven teams, BMCU displayed dominance and depth with four runners finishing inside the top six.
Lukas Dykes led the charge for the Toppers, finishing second overall with a time of 27:34.70 in the men's 8000m race.
Freshman Gauge Montgomery continued to impress early in his collegiate career, running a strong race to finish third overall (27:36.89) in just his second career 8K.
Andrew Ayala, the lone senior for BMCU, secured a fifth-place finish (28:03.73), while Jonah Barnhardt followed closely behind in sixth (28:26.74).
Rounding out the Topper scoring was Daniel Äikäs, who finished 11th overall (28:49.79).
It was a tremendous team performance for the Toppers, who continue to build momentum and confidence through the early stretch of the 2025 season.
