Huntsville, Ala.- The Toppers ran on Friday in Huntsville, Alabama at the highly competitive Southern Showcase, featuring a field packed with NCAA Division I programs.
Lukas Dykes led the way for BMCU with a strong showing in the 8k, finishing in a time of 27:17 to place 331st overall. Right behind him was sophomore standout Jonah Barnhardt, who continued his solid start to the season with a time of 27:38, placing 352nd.
Senior Andrew Ayala clocked in at 28:04, adding to his consistent campaign, while freshman Gauge Montgomery posted a 28:28 in his first collegiate 8k race. Fellow Topper Daniel Äikäs finished close behind Montgomery with a time of 28:29.
The Toppers will return to action on September 27th, hosting the Topper Trails College Classic on their home course.
