Waverly, Ga.- The toppers put together an impressive performance this week, finishing in sixth place out of seventeen teams in Coastal Georgia Winter Invite.
Leading the way for BMCU was senior
Pontus Nordstrom, who fired rounds of 75-70-72 to finish with a total score of 217, placing him twelfth individually.
Following close behind was sophomore
Acen Lambert, posted a solid 74-70-75 for a total of 219. Lambert's strong showing earned him sixteenth place overall.
Freshman
Cobey Riddle had a strong showing as well, finishing in twenty-fourth place with rounds of 76-71-74 for a total of 221.
Following close behind Riddle was junior
Tom Lehman, who had a solid showing as well.
Lehman shot a 224 total with rounds of 74-73-77.
Rounding out the team was freshman
Alex Nordstrom who placed sixty-first, with rounds of 77-77-82 for a total of 236.
"I'm proud of how our team played overall," said Head Coach
Kevin Barefield. "We know that we can still improve in some areas, but this performance shows that we are headed in the right direction These guys are working hard, and I am excited to see how they perform in Mobile."
The BMCU Men's Golf Team is looking ahead to their next tournament: The University of Mobile Spring Invite, which will take place in Mobile, Alabama on February 24
th and 25
th. With the momentum from this strong performance, they're looking to carry their success into the next challenge.
