Blue Mountain Christian University announces the addition of club co-ed pickleball

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – With pickleball popularity taking off across the nation, Blue Mountain Christian University will add a co-ed team to the 2024-2025 club sport opportunities for student-athletes to compete collegiately on a national stage.
Recruitment for advanced pickleball athletes has begun. Head Coach, Andy Burleson, Tupelo, MS, said, "We are excited to be on the forefront of the pickleball movement at universities across the country.  Being able to come to BMCU and earn a scholarship to play the fastest growing sport in America is something that very few schools are doing.  We hope to build a team of student-athletes who represent BMCU well on and off the court in pursuit of championships.  There is no where better to play pickleball in North Mississippi. We can't wait to get our inaugural team on campus and competing".
This will be one of the first programs in the country that will offer scholarship opportunities for student-athletes.
Pickleball will join Powerlifting, Archery and Bass Fishing as BMCU's other non-NAIA, club sports on campus, all of which are top national programs.
