Will Porter ended his collegiate XC career at the top race in the country here Friday, the NAIA National Championship.
In his third straight trip to Nationals, Porter would finish 216
th overall in a time of 25:57.8 at the 8K event.
Porter was BMCU's lone qualifier on the season, while the SSAC was well represented as a conference at the meet.
Oklahoma City's Evert Silva won the individual national title in a swift time of 23:13.9
"Will has had an incredible running career here at BMCU," head coach Phillip Laney said. "He's been a great leader and student-athlete and has always done things the right way. He will go down as one of the best runners in the university's history, and we are all just so proud of him."
Porter is now part of a storied history for the BMCU Cross Country program, as Laney has consistently seen his teams compete for conference and national titles over several years.
