Results) It was a field full of NCAA teams that Blue Mountain Christian Women had to contend against Friday at the Mississippi College Season Opener 5K.
Topper top runner
Catherine Truemper would kick off her 2023 season with a bang, racing to 8
th overall in a time of 18:51.6, equating to a quick 6:04 pace per mile while hitting the podium.
Truemper and the Lady Toppers were in a field of 115 runners and 13 teams, as BMCU would place 6th as a team with 145 points.
Host Mississippi College took home the top prize with 41 points, followed by Mississippi State with 42 points.
"Our ladies were stacked up against some really good teams today, and I'm very proud of how they performed," BMCU head coach Phillip Laney said. "These early races are a good way to test ourselves against some of the top racers in the nation, and Catherine proved she's among the best today. I'm really proud of all our ladies."
